  1. Works by the Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers

    September 14, 2019, All Day @ Vermont State House Cardroom

    The Vermont State House is the place for visitors to discover wonderful art, history, and contemporary craft. Beginning on September 4 – through October 8, 2019 The Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers will be exhibiting works from the following guild members that represents extraordinary craftsmen in furniture design: George Ainley, James Becker, Chris Ericson, Bob Gasperetti, Dale Helms, Dave Hurwitz, David Lewis, Matthew Ogelby and George Sawyer. From forest to home, these makers handcraft objects that are woven into the fabric of everyday life, gathering memories to them as they’re handed down across generations.

  2. Bethany Church 25th Annual Lawn and Bake Sale

    September 14, 2019, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Bethany Church, U.C.C.

    Antiques, Jewelry, Collectibles, Housewares, Crafts, Sporting Goods, Toys, Games, Puzzles, Furniture, Clothing, and More - Baked Goods, and Bar-B-Q. Proceeds benefit local & world church ministries. Donations of clean items in good condition will be accepted 9am-7pm on 9/9, 10 and 11 - and please call if you would like to volunteer.   3. Capital City Farmer's Market

    Over 50 vendors gather each Saturday, from May through October, to sell locally grown and made products, unique to Vermont and astounding in quality. Live music every week and special events throughout the season make the market a gathering place for Central Vermont residents. Fresh vegetables and fruits, quality meats, specialty cheeses, artisan bread, baked goods, ethnic foods, herbs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, honey and maple syrup…the list goes on and on. Join us and see how much Vermont has to offer!

  4. Galen Cheney & Tessa G. O’Brien

    The T.W. Wood Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibit featuring the work of Galen Cheney & Tessa G. O’Brien. Galen Cheney’s current work is a deepening of an exploration started during a residency in China in 2015. In China, Cheney worked with accumulated papers, building them up into multi-layered constructions. Tessa G. O’Brien combines representation and process-based abstraction with color and mark-making to describe the experience and memory of places she has known. Reception: September 6th, 3 – 8PM In Conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk The opening reception will take place on Friday, September 6th from 3 to 8pm in conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk. 3pm – Elevation Celebration: Ribbon cutting for the new elevator at the TW Wood Gallery and The Center for Arts and Learning; will include Mayor Ann Watson and Katie Miller, Executive Director of Vermont Inclusive Arts. 4-8pm - Art receptions and Art Walk.

  5. Vermont Pastel Society

    The T.W. Wood Art Gallery is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibit by the Vermont Pastel Society. The exhibit will run from September 3rd to September 27th, 2019. All shows are free and open to the public. The Vermont Pastel Society The Vermont Pastel Society was established by a group of artists in 1999 to build and strengthen connections among pastel painters, to foster artistic development, and to provide links to resources. In addition, The Vermont Pastel Society promotes public appreciation of pastels as a fine art medium. The Vermont Pastel Society currently has over one hundred members. Reception: September 6th, 3 – 8PM In conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk The opening reception will take place on Friday, September 6th from 3 to 8pm in conjunction with Elevation Celebration and Art Walk. Vermont Pastel Society will present their Luminous Landscape Award, Reflective Waterscape Award, and Lovely Lines Award at 6pm.

  6. Vermont History Trivia

    September 14, 2019, 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Vermont History Museum

    Do you know about the unusual animal fossil discovered in Charlotte in 1849? What about how Vermont got its name? Are you looking to learn more about the history of our state? Put your knowledge to the test and learn some fascinating new history facts with an exciting afternoon of Vermont History Trivia! This family-friendly event is open to individual players and teams, history buffs and novices alike! Two separate grand prizes will be awarded-- one for the highest scoring adults team and one for the highest scoring kids team. However, everyone who comes out to compete will go home with a participation prize! Refreshments and check in will begin at 1:00, and the competition will begin after players have formed teams and a brief introduction at 1:20. Trivia is included with the price of admission at the Vermont History Museum. We look forward to seeing you there!

Master basic recipes that can be customized a million different ways for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Ages 7-10. Half Pint Chef is the creation of Jess Turner, who has planned a cooking curriculum designed to empower kids to have hands-on experiences in the kitchen. Jess is a lifelong baker, a mom to a 7-year-old aspiring baker, and the owner of Capital Kitchen in downtown Montpelier.
