PoemCity 2012
PoemCity 2012 Submissions Deadline: Feb 1, 2012
MONTPELIER, VT -- The Kellogg Hubbard Library and Montpelier Alive will reprise PoemCity 2012 (formerly known as POETRY Alive!) with a text display and expanded programming for a month-long National Poetry Month celebration in Montpelier, Vt in April 2012.
The project, now in its third year, will feature contemporary Vermont poetry displayed in shop windows throughout downtown Montpelier, as well as poetry/art installations and thirty days’ worth of poetry-related programming. The kick-off event will feature a reading with Q&A by Sydney Lea, new Vermont Poet Laureate. Other features include an exhibit of broadsides from New England presses, writing workshops, readings, and a poetry slam led by Slam Master Geof Hewitt. READ MORE HERE.
Please Note that poetry submissions deadline has passed. Thanks to all who submitted work.
Thanks to our festival underwriter, Vermont College of Fine Arts.

PoemCity is also partially funded by The Vermont Humanities Council, The National Endowment for the Humanities, the Montpelier Arts Fund, the Vermont Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
