Founded in 1977, the Capital City Farmers Market has been bringing local producers and customers from near and far together to create this eclectic community event for 40 years. The market is open year-round and held at several venues, the biggest is its outdoor summer market. Over 50 vendors gather each Saturday, from May through October, to sell locally grown and made products, unique to Vermont and astounding in quality. The market is held in a large parking area bordered by the Winooski River, where there is plenty of room to mill about and enjoy the plentiful market offerings. Live music every week and special events throughout the season make the market a gathering place for Central Vermont residents. Fresh vegetables and fruits, quality meats, specialty cheeses, artisan bread, baked goods, ethnic foods, herbs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, honey and maple syrup…the list goes on and on.
The market runs from May through October outside on Saturdays from 9am-2pm, and moves inside with twice monthly markets on Saturdays from 10am-2pm from November through April.
Winter 2020 Dates: the first three Saturdays in December, and then every other Saturday starting January 4th, 2020 through April 25th.
