  1. The Front presents "Daryl Burtnett: Respite"

    March 5, 2021 - November 29, 2021
    The Front

The Front presents "Daryl Burtnett: Respite", a solo show of recent work by the Front member artist. Burtnett's mixed media works on paper and canvas draw inspiration from the marks, textures and imprints time leaves on things and on us. Respite brings together work from the past several months, sharing works that have brought solace in these fraught times. Daryl Burtnett: Respite runs March 5th through November 29th. The Front is open Saturdays and Sundays 11-2, and Daryl welcomes showings by appointment. Join us for Daryl's artist talk via zoom on March 18th at 7:00pm; email to rsvp.

  2. Open Studio Weekend at Blue Roof Designs

    October 2, 2021, 10:00 AM - October 3, 2021, 5:00 PM
    Blue Roof Designs studio

In my studio in Montpelier you will find me hand-binding journals, photo albums, and guest books using traditional bookbinding techniques. I love making blank books – every one is meant to be transformed by the owner making each truly one-of-a-kind. I also enjoy creating artist’s books - this is when the combination of text, imagery, and structure result in the book becoming an art object, in and of itself. It is meant to be touched and interacted with. Come for a tour of the studio, demonstrations, and captivating conversation about the world of handmade books. There will also be savings up to 50% off seconds and discontinued styles and bookbinding supplies will be available for purchase. Wait until you see my paper drawers! Children welcome! I’m studio #62 in the gold Fall Event & Resource Guide.

  3. “Annie Oakley” Staged Reading

    October 2, 2021, 7:00 PM - October 3, 2021, 2:00 PM

Lost Nation Theater presents Maura O’Brien stars in “Annie Oakley;” a work-in-progress staged reading of a new play by Jeanne Beckwith, written especially for her. Despite her fame, very little is really known by the public about this strong, resilient & fascinating woman’s life. Hear her story! You also get to be part of the creative process as we take steps toward the final script to be presented as part of LNT’s 2022 Mainstage Season. The reading will last approximately 90 minutes, and will be followed by a discussion session. Ask questions and give your feedback to the playwright, actor, and artistic directors. LNT is thrilled to “begin again” with live-in-person audience by going back to the company’s roots: developing original work. Lost Nation Theater is currently beginning to reopen after being closed for 16 months due to the covid-19 pandemic. We are delighted to be able to offer this special event.
